A unique exhibition of vintage locomotives and agricultural machinery, all perfectly restored and in working order, this interactive museum offers visitors the chance to discover the advanced agricultural and road transport technologies used in the region at the turn of the 20th century.
The museum was founded out of the passion of Franco Risi, a local metalworking entrepreneur who, in his spare time, nurtured the dream of reviving steam technology. In 1980, he completely restored the first steam locomotive, the Hofherr Schrantz Clayton Shuttleworth, which is still on display in the museum. This achievement was followed by many others, leading to the expansion of the collection of steam-powered machinery – all of which are now in perfect working order and can be explained to a wider public – and which formed the backbone of our region’s economic development.
