Stefano Mancuso will present his book Song of the Earth
The renowned plant neurobiologist Stefano Mancuso consider the The Canticle of the Creatures by St Francis the first text on integral ecology in history. According to Mancuso, the Saint of Assisi had intuitively grasped, almost 800 years ago, the profound interconnection between all living beings – a fact that modern science now confirms.
Mancuso’s scientific conclusions on plant intelligence and the network of ecological relationships blend with Franciscan spirituality. Both approaches, albeit using different languages, teach us to regard humankind as part of a whole.
